AM 410 - Dialogue Polishing
AM 410 - Dialogue Refinement from Jason Fittipaldi on Vimeo.
I moved into the nitty-gritty polish phase this past week. I also changed the lame hand and how he was posturing it thanks to some good suggestions from a classmate (thanks Jeff!).
One more week left to super polish everything. I know there are a few spots where I want to tweak the timing and the arcs.

hey jason, animation is looking really cool and that lame hand posturing is also good..... but wat i like most, is the way u choose head movements and the angles they are making... that`s amazing.
i just like to ask one thing that have u purposefully try to avoid the eye contact with the camera?? how about keeping eye contact with the camera all the time, without changing head positions (i just love the way u hav animated the head :-D )
i dont know if it'll work or not with the rig, as im not qualified at all to comment on animation techniques :), but its just a thought that came to me while watching it as i thought that he might look more evil and more direct to his audience.
while doing the final adjustments, also check that lip sync part where he is saying..."R they not evil, the words we use"
anyways keep animating and keep posting :)..... i know its really difficult to take some time out and do all that posting with such a busy schedule.. but u hav done an amazing job uptill now and i wish u best of luck for future.

Adeel
Hey Adeel! The angle of the head can definitely do a lot for the body language of the character. If you saw a few posts back, I shot a lot of reference of myself in an attempt to explore numerous ideas for the project. Being very sleep-deprived helped me get into character quite a bit! =D
I've been taught quite a bit to avoid having characters look directly at the camera, but working with a character that has functional eyes and some limited facial controls is still new to me as well. I actually toyed with him looking at the camera/viewers in my shot last week and it's something I mean to discus with my current mentor. While you typically may not want to do it, ti might work will since this guy has such a creepy personality and dialogue scene!
The mouth definitely feels a bit off in some places, but for this current class I'm in we have very limited face controls. In my next class we will be taking what I finish this week and studying advanced facial animation where we flesh this shot out even more. Stay tuned! :)
hey Jason...
the limitations of the rig explains every things then,so i must say that with these limitations u've really done a good job
i found ur blog wen u were about to start class 4 and ur blog was so informative and good that i couldnt stop and read all of ur AM journey uptill now :D...... and i hav learned lot of new things from ur blog and for that i thank u.... and yeah i saw ur post where u shot references and dude u r also a good actor, those references for the stage actor scene were really funny :)
if u can, do try to post wat ur mentor says about eye contact thing for this particular scene.... as this avoiding eye contact concept is something totally new for me
anyways hav fun, keep animating and keep posting ;)
Regards
Adeel
